Cash Flow Management

Cash flow under a life insurance program can be managed to meet client needs. Cash flow from death claims can be relatively dependable, or not, depending on the size and structure of the program. Client cash needs may require active management of the cash flow deliverables from your insurance carrier. HMH has extensive experience coordinating carrier payments with client cash flow expectations.

HMH will work with your life insurance carriers to deliver cash in the amounts and at the times that you need it, consistent with your objectives in light of the particular structure of your life insurance program. Areas of focus include one or more of the following:

  • Death Claims: We undertake Social Security sweeps and use client information resources to identify claims and assure prompt payment. HMH will supervise assembly of the death certificate and other documents needed to complete the carrier's claims process.
  • Policy Loans: Cash needed to supplement cash flow from death claims can be obtained by employing a policy loan. HMH will consult with the client to determine the efficacy of a policy loan rather than a withdrawal in meeting client objectives. There will be circumstances when a loan will be the preferred option.
  • Policy Withdrawals: Cash needed to supplement cash flow from death claims can also be obtained by employing a policy withdrawal. HMH will consult with the client to determine the efficacy of a policy withdrawal rather than a loan in meeting client objectives. There will be times when a withdrawal will be the preferred option.
  • Policy Surrenders: Cash needed to supplement cash flow from death claims can also be obtained by employing a policy surrender. HMH will consult with the client to determine the efficacy of a policy surrender rather than either a policy withdrawal or loan in meeting client objectives. A policy surrender generally is the option of last resort, but there will be times when a surrender may be the preferred option.

HMH will always recommend the most advantageous choice for the client.
